Google and BCG will create a learning curriculum to help companies build their digital marketing skills…

Google Digital Academy and Boston Consulting Group (BCG) have entered into a partnership to help companies enhance the digital skill set of their employees.

The two companies will run an annual survey to measure the digital marketing capabilities of companies across industries. It will be like a health checkup for digital skill set. They will come out with a benchmark report, showing the company’s performance against its industry’s average.

The intelligence from the survey will also inform a new Digital Skills Index and an annual report that will provide insight into cross-industry digital capabilities.

This annual survey will show how digital skills are evolving.

In the next step, the partnership will identify gaps in the digital marketing skills of companies. It will create a learning curriculum to help them build their digital marketing skills and keep pace with the rapid changes that are occurring.

Google Digital Academy and BCG are driving this first-of-its-kind coordinated industry effort with a firm goal in mind: to help companies make their digital marketing efforts dramatically more effective and efficient.

A strong group of leading advertisers, such as Tesco, Unilever, P&G and Vodafone are already participating in the Talent Revolution.

Shuvo Saha, director, Google Digital Academy, says, “Marketers themselves recognise that there is a gap in digital skills: 82 per cent of those surveyed recently, told us they think so. The Talent Revolution initiative is bringing together the best industry advisors and representatives to address this gap and make sure that marketers become the driving force behind future business success.”
