IIM Amritsar to commence classes in late July

The fee of Rs 9 lakh for the post graduate programme to be inclusive of  tuition fee, hostel accommodation, books and learning material.

IIM Amritsar, which is being mentored by IIM Kozhikode, will begin its first batch by the end of July. It is one of the six new IIMs coming up in 2015.

The first batch will start with 65 students for the post graduate programme (PGP) in management. The admission process is likely to be completed by 20 July.2015 and the classes will begin from July end.

The fee for the two-year post graduate programme at IIM Amritsar has been fixed at Rs 9 lakh, which includes hostel accommodation, books and learning material apart from tuition fee.

The IIM Amritsar campus is proposed to come up at a site near Manawala on the Amritsar–Jalandhar GT Road, in 60 acres of flat land. It may take about 2–3 years for the infrastructure and campus to be set up and be ready for use. Till then, the Institute will operate from the Punjab Institute of Technology located in the Government Polytechnic College, Amritsar compound.

IIM Kozhikode will develop the programme and put together systems and processes to lay a strong foundation for building yet another great institution of professional learning.
