Reliance Industries (RIL) will cover the cost of vaccination for its workforce and their immediate family. The Company will do so at an approximate cost of Rs 12.2 lakhs.

However, RIL is not the first company to have announced such a move. Companies, such as Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys and Accenture India in the information technology sector, as well as State Bank of India have already announced their intention to cover the cost of vaccination for their staff and their dependants. French IT company, Capgemini, too has made a similar announcement for eligible employees and their families who are covered under the Company’s medical benefits programme.

Reliance has communicated to its employees that the cost of vaccinating them, their spouses, parents and children eligible for vaccine will be borne entirely by the Company. The eligible staff are being encouraged to register for the government’s vaccination programme

To further make matters convenient, RIL has partnered with certain hospital so that employees can get vaccinated close to where they are located.

Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, has been using the social media to encourage the private sector to facilitate the vaccine distribution process and encourage people to get themselves vaccinated.

Over 1.56 crore vaccine doses have already been administered to eligible people across the country.
