The Tool Room and Training Centre in Bihar will offer vocational training to students and ensure overall development.

In a recent development, junior union minister for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME), Giriraj Singh, inaugurated a unique facility in Bihar. Known as the Tool Room and Training Centre(TRTC), this facility has been developed in the MSME Development Institute campus.

Terming TRTC a milestone in Bihar’s development, Singh emphasised the importance of small- and medium-scale industries in generating employment. He also talked about the ‘solar charkha’ model, which aims to employ over 5 crore women in the country. The scheme will be launched from Nawada.

According to the minister, TRTC, with its latest technology machines, will impart vocational training to students in the State and improve their skills. He also urged the Bihar Government to associate all polytechnic institutes and industrial training institutes with the training centre.

TRTC will offer various certificate courses, ranging from two-week to four-year duration. The eligibility for these courses also ranges from Class IX to MTech. Recognising the need for overall development, the SC/ST students will be offered free training with hostel facility.
