An online preliminary examination will be conducted by the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) to shortlist candidates for the posts of apprentice development officers (ADO), followed by an online main examination and then an interview.

The ADO posts are offered in various divisional offices under the Western Zonal Office, Maharashtra.

Interested candidates can apply by filling the application form available on the LIC website by 9 June, 2019. The candidates can also download the LIC ADO exam admit card from the website, beginning 29 June, 2019.

Open candidates as well as candidates who have earlier worked for LIC as employees or agents may apply. However, all applicants should be graduates from an established university or from the Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India, Mumbai.

Preference will be given to the candidates who possess a minimum of two years of experience.

The selected candidates will be eligible for a fixed stipend of Rs 34,502 per month during apprenticeship period. However, once appointed as a probationary development officer, the basic pay will be Rs 21,865/- per month (except for Employee Category candidates) in the scale of 21865-1340(2)-24545-1580(2)-27705-1610(17)- 55075 with other allowances as per rules.

Only candidates below the age of 30 will be considered.

The application fee for general candidates is Rs 600, whereas for the reserved category it is Rs 50.

There are 168 posts vacant in Ahmedabad, 77 in Amaravati, 74 in Aurangabad, 58 in Bhavnagar, 71 in Gandhinagar, 58 in Goa, 54 in Kolhapur, 452 in Mumbai, 47 in Nadiad, 105 in Nagpur, 31 in Nanded, 107 in Nashik, 126 in Pune, 90 in Rajkot, 29 in Satara, 81 in Surat, 62 in Thane and 63 in Vadodara.

Online registrations have already begun on 20 May 2019. Interested candidates need to apply before 9 June and print their applications before 26 June. Online fee has to be paid by 9 June. The tentative dates for online preliminary and main examinations are 6 July and 10 August respectively. For details, candidates should look up www.licindia.in.
