    Odisha clears 23 projects; to create 10,000 jobs across sectors

    Key sectors in which jobs will be created include mechanical and electrical capital goods, aerospace, shipbuilding, apparel, textiles, pharmaceuticals and plastics

    Odisha has approved 23 new investment projects worth ?4,111.80 crore, expected to generate 9,924 jobs across 11 districts. The approvals were made during the 144th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The projects span a wide range of industries, focussing on balanced regional development and job-led growth.

    These projects, spread across districts including Khordha, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Cuttack, and Puri, reinforce Odisha’s position as an investment hub in Eastern India. They align with the state’s Samruddha Odisha 2036 vision, focusing on sustainable industrial growth and large-scale employment generation.

    Key sectors and job creation:
    • Mechanical and electrical capital goods: Nipha’s railway component unit in Khordha (Rs 384 crore, 310 jobs).
    • Aerospace and defense: Inventgrid India’s multi-drone manufacturing centre in Ganjam (?300 crore, 1,000 jobs).
    • Shipbuilding and repair: Northern Express Infradevelopers’ facility in Bhadrak (Rs 339.40 crore, 507 jobs).
    • Apparel and textiles: J.G. Hosiery’s unit in Khordha (Rs 100 crore, 2,350 jobs), the largest employment generator.
    • Pharmaceuticals and chemicals: Alventa Pharma (Rs 100 crore, 250 jobs), Blue Mount Energy (?100 crore, 100 jobs), Growing Tree Oil Refinery (Rs 100 crore, 250 jobs).
    • Refractories and aluminum downstream: Sarvesh Refractories (Rs 62 crore, 100 jobs), Jharkhand Grind Chem (?67.15 crore, 225 jobs), Romco Aluminates (Rs 54.50 crore, 100 jobs).
    • Plastics and glass: Water Tech India (Rs 387 crore, 975 jobs), Yash Flexi Pack (Rs 51 crore, 150 jobs), JBSS Glass (Rs 50.85 crore, 263 jobs).
    • Mineral beneficiation and metals: Kalinga Metalics (Rs 600 crore, 700 jobs), Shree Ram Iron & Alloys (?250 crore, 475 jobs), Rashmi Metallurgical (Rs 350 crore, 200 jobs), Aryas Ore Refinery (Rs 51 crore, 149 jobs), Eastside Subh Steel (Rs 60.05 crore, 130 jobs).
    • Logistics: Shrishti Trading Corporation’s logistics park in Cuttack (Rs 160.75 crore, 595 jobs).
    • Tourism and hospitality: Four hotel projects in Khordha, Puri, and Sambalpur together creating over 1,000 jobs.
