    Polycab India has appointed Ashish Kakkar as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO) and executive president. In this new capacity, Kakkar will bolster the company’s strategic HR initiatives, ensuring they align with its growth and development goals.

    Prior to joining Polycab, Kakkar was associated with ICICI Home Finance as its CHRO. He had a notable seven-year tenure at ICICI, from 2017 to 2024.

    At ICICI Home Finance, he was drove HR initiatives focused on business partnering, change management, leadership development and operational excellence.

    Officially, his professional journey with ICICI started in 2003, when he joined ICICI Prudential AMC, a joint venture between ICICI Bank and Prudential. He joined the asset-management company as its SVP-HR and was responsible for HR and administration functions across the organisation with specific responsibility for organisation development, employee engagement and training.

    In the year 2016, he joined ICICI Bank as the JGM-HR for a short stint. In this capacity, he worked to enhance HR operations and align HR strategies with business objectives.

    In addition to this, Kakkar’s extensive experience includes a stint at 3i Infotech as its head-HR, and a year-long stint with Pepsico as its HR capability manager. At Pepsi, he managed organisational capability and development for the West Market unit.

    A science graduate from Goa University, Kakkar holds an MBA degree from the Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies. His expertise lies in business partnering, change management, leadership development and operational excellence.

    He is an avid reader who actively explores ways to influence leaders, managers and teams to realise their full potential.
