Genpact, the global digital transformation firm, has elevated Rajlakshmi Saikia to the position of vice president, global learning operations. In this new role, Saikia — who has been with Genpact since 2014 — will lead the global operations to reskill the Company’s global talent pool of over 90,000 employees and build digital transformation capabilities in the workforce for the future. Prior to this, Saikia was the AVP – talent development at Genpact, responsible for developing more than 18,000 employees in the consumer goods, retail, life sciences and healthcare businesses.

“I will be responsible for operationalising Genome, our own learning platform for over 90,000 of our employees. It is developed on the premise of collective intelligence and promotes collaborative learning amongst our people,” shares Saikia with HRKatha.

“My focus would be to build new age skills in the organisation and also building T-shaped capabilities amongst our people,” adds Saikia.

Saikia started her career with Planman Consulting, a staffing and recruiting firm, supporting clients in their talent and development needs. After two years, she moved into a dual role of HR manager and deputy editor for the magazine The Human Factor, at Planman Media. In this role, she managed the editorial activities and also handled recruitment, payroll, performance management and engagement.

After spending seven successful years at Planman Media, Saikia joined People Matters, an HR publication, as deputy editor, leading the editorial team of their monthly magazine. She also played a role in managing corporate events at People Matters.

Saikia holds an MBA degree in HR from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management and has also completed a post graduate certificate programme in HRM from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
