Glenmark Pharmaceuticals appoints Alpana Vartak as senior VP- HR

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has roped in Alpana Vartak as senior vice president – human resources. She moves from Bajaj Consumer Care where she was chief human resources officer for less than a year. Armed with an MBA in human resources from Symbiosis Institute of Management, Vartak began her professional career with Whirpool Corporation as deputy manager – HR. A year later, she became HR head – corporate technology organization, Whirlpool India, for the period 2006 to 2008. The year 2008 saw her based out of Michigan Area as senior HR manager – Whirlpool Corporation.

Her next stop was Levis Strauss & Co., where she was senior manager – human resources for about a year and a half.

From 2011 to 2017, she served as general manager – human resources, India & South West Asia, The Coca-Cola Company, based out of Gurugram. After successfully partnering with business in HR and facing business challenges for almost seven years, she moved to Cipla. She served as global head – talent acquisition for more than two and a half years. Based out of Mumbai, she worked closely with business and HR leaders to enhance the employer brand proposition and attract future ready talent.

Vartak moved on to Mondelez International as head – human resources in 2020.

With over 18 years of HR experience backing her, including 12+ years of independent HR strategic business partnering experience, Vartak is known for her ability to engage with business partners at all levels.
