    HT Media ropes in Paras Kaushik as the CHRO

    Paras Kaushik has joined HT Media as the CHRO. He brings with him 18 years of experience in the human resources space. In his new role, Kaushik will be responsible for driving the human resources agenda for all of HT Media’s businesses such as print, digital and radio, including new business initiatives. 

    Prior to joining the media house, Kaushik was the head of HR at Samvardhan Motherson Group (SMG), a 45-year old auto ancillary company. He was responsible for managing the human resources function for the Group’s 1,35,000 employees across 41 countries.

    He began his journey in HR with the Aditya Birla Group in 2002, when he joined as a management trainee in the organisation. Being associated with the organisation for 17-long years, he served in various capacities before moving up the ranks and being elevated to head HR for the lifestyle, retail and fashion division, in November 2017. That division had around 21,000 employees at the retail stores, manufacturing units and corporate office. 

    Kaushik has served in various locations around India, Philippines and the US. Prior to joining the lifestyle, retail and fashion division at Aditya Birla, he was with Birla Carbon where he headed the learning, leadership and organisational development functions at a global level, and oversaw the HR operations in the South America region. 

    In between, he also served as the head- HR for Pantaloons and Madura Fashion & Lifestyle.  

    Having completed his bachelor’s from Himachal Pradesh University, Kaushik did his master’s in HR from the Symbiosis International University.
