Nitin Thakur has been appointed as the head of learning at Jindal Stainless. In his new role, he shall be working closely with the chief human resources officer, S.K. Jain.

A Harvard alumnus and learning and development (L&D) expert, Thakur has over 18 years of experience in the field of L&D, learning and talent management.

Prior to this, he served as the global head, training and development, at Rockwell Automation, where he worked for more than 10 years. There, he was responsible for defining the L&D philosophy of the organisation, handling the global L&D processes and strategic learning alliances, and institutionalising a learning culture.

Before Rockwell, he worked as a training consultant at Beacon Consulting for close to four and a half years. He began his professional career as an assistant manager-training, at GETIT Inforservices. Between Beacon Consulting and Rockwell, he served as a faculty member at Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi, for over three years, teaching organisational psychology.

Just like his professional profile, Thakur has rich experience in academics as well. He went on to receive a two-year diploma in training and management from the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD). This was around the time he worked at Beacon Consulting.

Before joining as a faculty at SRCC, he pursued an MSc in applied psychology. He also completed a senior executive leadership programme from Harvard Business School.
