    JSW Steel gets Priya Ranjan Kumar as VP-HR

    Priya Ranjan Kumar, who exited Viraj Profiles — a stainless steel manufacturer — as its SVP & CHRO in the month of February 2022, has now joined JSW Steel as its VP-HR.

    Kumar served as the CHRO at Viraj Profiles for five years, leading its HR function and playing a key role in building new organisation design and talent capabilities to accelerate the Company’s HR transformation journey. He is known for the way he built a new culture at Viraj.

    Before joining Viraj, Ranjan was global head – talent acquisition and talent management, African Industries Group, for almost five years, from 2011 to 2016.

    He has also served as assistant general manager – corporate HR, at Jindal Steel & Power for almost three years.

    Having completed an MBA in HR from LNMI in 1997, Kumar started his career as an assistant manager –HR and admin, with an MNC, for seven years, honing his skills in the domain, before moving to Hindustan Lever. He joined as a deputy manager – HR and stayed put for about a year and a half.

    Kumar’s next stop was Reliance, where he joined as general manager – HR, in 2006, for the Mumbai area. It was in November 2008 that he joined Jindal Steel in New Delhi.

    With over 20 years of experience across geographies, Kumar is known to be a dynamic HR leader with expertise in delivering sustained results in dynamic environments. Establishing HR footprint and building employee values and upholding organisation values are his forte.

    He featured in the 101 Top HR Minds of India, and was awarded The Great Yodha of Indian HR 2018. He was also recognised as one of the Most Influential 100 Global HR Professionals.
