Hisense, the consumer electronics manufacturer, has appointed Kamalika Deka as director – HR and administration. Backed by over 16 years of experience, Deka is also the Head of Department (HOD) at Hisense, which manufactures smartphones, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, commercial displays and other products, and has its headquarters in China.

Armed with a master’s degree in human resource management from ICFAI, Deka began her professional journey with Apollo Hospitals, as senior executive – corporate HR, Hyderabad. Less than three years later, she moved to Titan Company, as executive – HR, in 2009. A year into this role, she was promoted to the post of assistant manager – HR, based out of Bengaluru. She climbed the corporate ladder steadily, and by 2013, she was manager – HR, working out of New Delhi. She spent a good seven years at Titan.

From 2016 to 2019, Deka served as regional head – HR, North, for Domino’s, based out of Delhi. After a three-year stint at Domino’s, Deka moved to Nicobar Design, as head of human resources. She successfully led the HR function for the Indian lifestyle brand under the umbrella of Eicher Goodearth for a little less than two years.

It was in March 2022 that she was appointed director – human resources & administration, India, at VisionSpring.

A life member of NHRD, Deka has been a panel and guest lecturer at various institutes including the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Delhi School of Economics.

HRKatha wishes her luck in her new role at Hisense, a company that has a 90,000-strong global workforce.
