Marriott International has elevated Vinay Jaswal to the role of VP-HR operations, South Asia (APEC). He joined the hotel in August 2022, in the role of senior director-HR.

He served IHG Hotels and Resorts as head-HR, South West Asia for over two years, before joining Marriot International as senior director – HR, in August 2022.

A postgraduate in defence automotive technology from Savitri Bai Phule University, Pune, Jaswal was with the Indian Army for over twelve years, from 1992 to 2004, as a defence instructor. He also holds an MBA in human resources from XLRI Jamshedpur.

Jaswal is a seasoned HR professional with over two decades of experience across sectors such as insurance, edtech, aviation and hospitality. He has worked with various organisations such as Aviva Life Insurance, iDiscoveri Education, InterGlobe Enterprises, Hughes Communications and Indigo.

His longest stint in human resources was with InterGlobe for over seven years. He joined the company’s Air transport unit in January 2011 for over three years, as head-HR. In this role, he was at the helm of HR initiatives aimed at collaborating closely with the business to enhance employee productivity, foster alignment among a diverse workforce, and optimise costs. He also played a pivotal role in HR planning, ensuring the harmonisation of human capital, and aligning the business strategy for a greenfield joint venture in the travel retail sector.
