Page Industries, an Indian manufacturer and retailer of innerwear and the licensee of Jockey International in India, has appointed Ravi Kumar as its chief people officer.
In this role, Kumar will lead the HR function for the entire organisation, which employs about 29,000 people including staff working in the factories.
Page Industries also owns the license of Jockey International in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, the UAE, Oman and Qatar.
Talking to HRKatha, Kumar shares, “Our focus will be to further strengthen our culture. The Company is on a growth trajectory and we are planning to introduce people interventions, which will add more value to the growth of the organisation.”
Kumar joined Page Industries on 18 April, 2022.
Prior to this role, Kumar was the people and culture leader at Roche Diabetes Care Global Commercial Organisation for India, the Middle East and Africa.
Kumar joined Roche Diagnostics in 2006, where he served as head-HR for India, for over eight years. Kumar was associated with the Roche brand for almost 15 years, serving in various roles in different businesses for the Group.
With more than two decades of experience in HR, Kumar started his career with L&T Turbo, where he spent more than three years. In 2000, he joined Saint Gobain as senior manager-HR.
An alumnus of the Xavier Institute of Social Sciences, Kumar has completed his post graduate diploma in personnel management and HR, from the Institute.
