Ravi Mishra, former senior vice president-HR, global epoxy business, Aditya Birla Advanced Materials Business, has now joined Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani as head-HR. He was associated with the Advanced Materials Business for over four years, starting 2019.

He further adds, “Throughout my career, I have embraced change, frequently relocating from one city to another since 1995. Now, I find myself drawn to a dynamic sector that is rapidly evolving in India. In this evolving landscape, HR has emerged as a vital facilitator in fostering sector growth.”
Prior to working at Advanced Materials Business, Mishra was associated with Birla Carbon as the regional HR head, South Asia and Middle East, in the year 2014. Before that, he was the assistant vice president-HR, UltraTech Cement for almost four years having joined the company in the year 2011 as its vice president-HR & admin.
He started off with the Aditya Birla Group as the general manager, HR, Aditya Birla Chemicals Division, in the year 2005.
His career began with Nicholas Piramal as senior executive, in the year 1995. After almost three years, in 1997, he shifted to Mardia Chemicals as manager and stayed put for over five years before moving on to Nova Petrochemical in a similar position for two and a half years.
Having begun his journey at the Aditya Birla Group, from the chemicals division, way back in March 2005, Mishra enjoyed many opportunities to work in different businesses, locations and geographies.
Mishra is an alumnus of Lucknow University from where he obtained a master’s degree in social work, in industrial relations and personnel management in 1991.
Well known for his team-building skills and getting the best out of individuals, Mishra possesses the maturity to understand business perspectives.
Speaking on his role, he added, “By leveraging my diverse background and passion for education, I aim to contribute to this transformative journey. Stepping into the academic sector for the first time, I am eager to learn and adapt, drawing inspiration from my father’s legacy as a retired teacher. Witnessing the evolution of educational institutions firsthand, I am committed to bridging the gap between traditional academia and the rapidly evolving needs of today’s learners.”
