Samir Prakash is the new chief human resources officer, Adani Enterprises, the Indian multinational and part of the Adani Group. He has moved from Indian Energy Exchange, where he was senior vice president – HR & admin (CHRO) for over four years.

Having started his HR journey way back in 1990, Prakash served as welfare officer at Jubilant Life Sciences for a year, before joining Atul Automotive Safety Glass Industries for a short stint of over two and a half years.

In 1994, he joined Wimco as manager – personnel, where he handled personnel and industrial relations functions for two years and eight months.

His next stop was Ericsson India, where he spent the longest tenure of his career. He joined as HR manager (generalist) in 1996, and by 2002 he was head – HR of the company. Two promotions later, in 2007, he donned the hat of head – corporate HR and HR business partner (Jaipur factory).

By 2009, he was the region SME – talent management and head – HR operations. In this role, he drove global talent management strategy aligned to regional talent needs. From 2011 to 2014, he served as director – HR (HRBP), wherein he coached, counselled and advised business leaders regarding proper implementation of HR strategies within their respective units.

After spending over 17 successful years at Ericsson, Prakash moved to Sopra Steria as senior director human resources.

The year 2018 saw him essaying the role of practice head – employee life cycle management at Optiwize Consulting for less than a year. This was followed by another short stint with SRK Tele Energy India as head of talent strategy and transformation, before he joined Indian Energy Exchange.

Known as a true leader and a very knowledgeable person in the HR circle, Samir Prakash is an alumnus of the Institute of Productivity and Management, Lucknow, and has also studied law at the University of Lucknow. His new assignment at Adani will see him based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
