Sandip Ghose is now mentor and chairman, eXlygenze. He has embarked on an independent journey after leaving MP Birla Cement in September 2020, where he had served as the COO. With expertise in corporate advisory, mentorship and coaching, he actively works with the non-profit sector as a way of giving back to the society.
eXlygenze SenseWorks is a Mumbai-based startup whose journey began in the early months of 2020. The Company is built to bring the best out of individuals, teams and organisations. In conversation with HRKatha, Sandip Ghose comments on what made him become a mentor and a chairperson to the startup, “What excites me most (apart from being part of a tech start-up journey) is the potential of applying this technology to sectors, such as education, healthcare and the social sector. Post Covid-19, managing remote teams — their motivation and productivity — will be a huge challenge for all kinds of industries — where this platform can be a game changer.” Backed by his deep understanding of the corporate industry, Ghose will guide eXlygenze with its market strategy.
Alongside, he founded his own firm — StratTG— in October 2020, focussing on growth, transformation and marketing in multiple roles. He also occasionally serves at the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR), a national Policy Think Tank based in Kochi and Inversion Management Services as their strategic advisor.
As the chief operating officer, Birla Corporation, the flagship company of the MP Birla Group, he played a pivotal part in making it one of the best-performing cement companies in the mid-cap segment.
He qualified as a chartered accountant with the All India Merit Rank, after completing his article training with Ernst & Young (S R Batliboi & Co) and CA internship with ITC. He joined Hindustan Lever (as it was then called) as a management trainee in 1983.
Having graduated from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, he possesses a BCom degree from St Xavier’s College (autonomous), Kolkata, where he studied accountancy, commerce and economics. He is also an International Coach Federation PCC Leadership and Life Coach, with relevant licenses and certificates.
Since 2001, Ghose has been a prolific commentator on current affairs, and has been a recurring invited columnist in several publications. A frequent speaker and ICF-accredited leadership and life coach, Ghose is quite passionate about mentoring and developing leaders for the future.
