Shweta Mohanty Roy, who has been with SAP for over six years, has been elevated to the position of head of HR, India.

Mohanty’s association with SAP began in November 2015, when she joined as director – human resources, at SAP India Lab in Bangalore. In less than two years, she became director-HR and global HR business partner. By 2020, she had climbed to the position of vice president – global HR business partner for enterprise cloud services and SAP Labs Network.

In her LinkedIn post, Mohanty says, “Through my past six years of journey with SAP, I am inspired by what SAP stands for and its deep commitment to be an innovation-led and purpose-driven organisation, with people at its heart”.

She believes in SAP’s “culture of inclusions” and is eager to continue to be part of the “future-fit organisation committed to creating amazing people experience”.

An alumna of the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, from where she completed her MBA in HR, Mohanty has served as senior executive – strategic resourcing, and later, as senior HR manager – telecom engineering solutions, with Wipro Technologies. After spending more than six and a half years with Wipro, she moved to Microsoft in 2008.

She joined Microsoft India Development Centre (IDC), Bangalore as HR manager, and within three years managed to get to the position of senior human resources manager and lead – IDC. She successfully led the HR function for the R&D organisation of Microsoft, for over 300 employees. She was primarily responsible for providing HR leadership to the client organisations and ensure successful delivery of all talent strategies, HR programmes and processes for the business.

Known for her leadership training skills, her respect for human values, team spirit and professional sincerity will stand her in good stead as she takes on more responsibilities at SAP.
