German industrial manufacturing conglomerate, Siemens, has appointed Shilpa Kabra Maheshwari as executive VP and country HR head.
Maheshwari will manage over 9400 employees at the Company. Siemens has 22 factories located across the country, eight ‘Centres of Competence’, 11 R&D centres and a nationwide sales and service network. In her new role, she will be based out of Mumbai.
The position was rendered vacant when Ramesh Shankar retired from the organisation. Shankar was EVP & head-HR, South Asia. After 38 years of corporate life, Shankar has now founded his own startup, Hristi.
Maheshwari, meanwhile, has moved from National Engineering Industries (NEI), a CK Birla Group company, which manufactures NBC Bearings. At NEI, she was vice president & head-HR and was with the company since August, 2014.
An alumnus of Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Udaipur, she started her career with Gujarat Gas. Maheshwari comes with expertise in HR leadership, corporate HR, people strategy and transformation, organisational development and talent management. Her portfolio consists of varied experiences across industries.
In 2000, she moved to the hospitality sector, with Goa Marriott Resort, where she stayed put for 1.5 years. Her next destination was also in the hospitality sector, when she moved to the Grand Hyatt, Delhi as training manager. She worked there for around eight months.
In 2003, she moved to Jindal Stainless, where she rose up the ranks for the next 11 years to become general manager, corporate HR. There, she was responsible for overall design, implementation and monitoring of talent, learning & development and OD processes for a 6000 strong workforce.
For the last 4.5 years, she was with NEI.
An economics graduate from Delhi University, Maheshwari holds an MBA-HR degree from FMS, Udaipur.
