Sonata Software has appointed Hariprasad Rebala as its new chief AI officer, marking a key step in the company’s push to become an AI-first enterprise.
Rebala will oversee Sonata’s full AI agenda — from products and platforms to delivery, partnerships, and talent. His mandate is to embed AI across the organisation and help clients convert AI investments into speed, scale, and real business outcomes.
Most recently, he was chief of AI solutions and growth at a deep-tech AI startup. He also co-founded Forfend, where he developed IoT and conversational AI platforms. Earlier, Rebala held senior roles at Mindtree, Capgemini, and Wipro, leading large-scale transformations and building practices, especially in Banking and Financial Services.
Rajsekhar Datta Roy, CEO of Sonata Software, stated that making Sonata an AI-native company is core to the company’s growth. He added that Hari brings rare experience across both startups and large IT firms, and understands how to build enterprise-grade AI platforms and deliver results through outcome-based models. He further noted that Hari’s leadership strengthens the executive bench as the company accelerates this transformation.
Rebala commented that the next phase of AI is about execution, not experiments. He observed that AI is now central to how companies compete and operate, but technology alone will not decide winners and that it is about translating AI into enterprise velocity. He said that Sonata’s mix of AI engineering, modernisation expertise, industry depth, and partner ecosystem puts it in a strong position to help clients scale. He added that his focus would be on creating differentiated AI platforms with customers and partners that deliver measurable value and long-term advantage.
The appointment aligns with Sonata’s plan to integrate AI into every part of its business — engineering, platforms, delivery and client solutions.
