Socomec, a global specialist in low voltage (LV) power management, has roped in Nida Khanam as its new head-HR for Greater India region (India, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, Bhutan & Nepal). She will step into the shoes of Nisha Gupta Malhotra, who previously held this role, and will now head the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in the APAC region for the company.

In her new capacity, Khanam will drive HR functions across commercial and plant operations. She will also spearhead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, talent development and organisational effectiveness.

Before joining Socomec India, Khanam worked at Omega Seiki Mobility as its chief people officer. She joined the company in the year 2022.

Bringing over 15 years of expertise, Khanam has worked across sectors such as automotive, manufacturing and technology. Her expertise lies in leading organisational development, talent management, talent acquisition and managing the employee lifecycle.

In her professional journey, she has also worked with many other companies such as GROHE, Lixil Water Technology and Rockwell Automation.

Commenting on her appointment and expressing enthusiasm on the new role, Khanam said, “My vision is to uphold this culture of excellence through people-centric initiatives and value-driven practices. My immediate focus will be on fortifying our HR function to align with our business objectives.”

Meenu Singhal, regional managing director, Socomec Greater India, welcomed Khanam in the new role. She also commented, “Her extensive experience and leadership in HR will be invaluable as we continue to expand our operations and strengthen our position in the market.”

Khanam is a graduate of the senior management programme from IIM-Calcutta and holds an MBA in human resources and agribusiness from Aligarh Muslim University.
