Subir Verma to head HR – T&D Cluster at Tata Power

Verma moves to Mumbai from Delhi, where he was heading HR, IR and health services at Tata Power DDL

Subir Verma, head HR, DDL at Tata Power-DDL, has shifted base and now moved to Mumbai as head HR, Transmission & Distribution (T&D) cluster at Tata Power.

In his new role, he will manage HR for T&D companies and businesses which includes TPDDL, TPADL,TPTCL, Powerlinks, NRSS, ISOLUX, Mumbai distribution, transmission, BD, electrical vehicle charging, contracts, PSCC, QAI&T, commercial.

Verma, who has been associated with the Tata Group for well over a decade now. His first assignment was as director – HR, Tata Communications in 2011. Almost three and a half years later, he moved to Tata Power, heading HR and IR (WR) based out of Mumbai.

By June 2018, he was named head strategy HR at Tata Power looking after HR at the Group’s various plants. In December the same year, he was elevated at head HR, Tata Power and was responsible for several companies such as Jojobera Power Plant, Haldia Power Plant, Trombay Power Plant, Tata Power International Pte Limited & Trust Energy (Singapore), Transmission & Distribution, Hydro & Renewable Operation HR, Services HR and Corporate HR.

In February 2020 he moved to Tata Power DDL as head HR, and was responsible for led HR, IR and HS (Health Services)

This alumnus of the Xavier Institute of Management, started his career in HR with Aptech in 1998, where he worked as regional HR head for six years. He served as senior manager – HR at Reliance from 2004 to 2006 before being elevated to the position of vertical HR head.

In 2008, he moved to Reliance Communications as circle HR head for Orissa and by the time he left in 2011, he had risen to the position of general manager & hub head (HR) for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Orissa Circle for CDMA and GSM businesses of the Company.

His next stop was at Augere India as chief human resources officer (CHRO) for a short stint of six months.

A certified happiness coach from the University of California, Berkeley, Verma has completed an advanced management programme in business administration and management from IIM-Ahmedabad.
