Sumit Neogi has joined FedEx as managing director – human resources, MEISA (Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa) region.
Neogi’s professional journey began in 2001 as an assistant production engineer at TVS Motors. Subsequently, he worked as a senior sales officer (retail) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation for three years. He then transitioned to Aon, initially as a consultant, and eventually progressed to the position of manager (senior module lead).
He also gained valuable experience during his four-year tenure at Reliance, where he started as a human resources business partner in 2011 and later in 2015 assumed the role of head of group HR capability development. In 2018, he rejoined Reliance Industries as vice president human resources.
Neogi’s career also included a two-year stint at Cipla, where he served as head of business HR for corporate functions and later as senior director and head of HR commercial in 2017. Prior to his role at FedEx, he held the position of interim leader at The Lubrizol Corporation.
With more than 21 years of experience behind him, Neogi is a seasoned human resource leader with a background in business HR, strategic HR consulting and retail sales and marketing. His expertise includes people and team development, HR tech, HR business partnership, HR transformation, organisation design and change management, talent management, performance management system design, compensation and benefits, leadership assessment and development, HR competencies, capability building, HR due diligence and consumer sales and marketing.
