Vijay Sethi, chief information officer (CIO), head human resources and head corporate social responsibility, Hero MotoCorp, has quit after serving the Company for 13 years. Pradeep Eledath will handle the responsibilities of CIO until a new CIO is appointed, whereas Mike Clarke will take on the role of chief human resources officer and COO.

Sethi, who holds an MBA in logistics, materials and supply chain management from the Indian Institute of Materials Management, Bangalore, worked with Ranbaxy as director – business solutions, for over eleven years. There, he was responsible for ensuring value delivery from IT investments in the organisation. Before joining Ranbaxy, he served as a management consultant for Tata Consultancy Services for over seven years. As a project leader and member of TCS’ mangement consulting division, he was involved in projects for leading organisations in the private and public sectors. It was in 1996 that he joined Ranbaxy.

His longest stint was with Hero MotoCorp where he was head of information technology, human resources and corporate social responsibility. He also lead innovation efforts at Hero MotoCorp and served as director on the Board of M/s HMCMM Auto (a joint venture of Hero MotoCorp and M/s Magneti Marelli of Italy).

A postgraduate diploma holder in industrial engineering from the National Institute of Industrial Engineer (NITIE), Maharashtra, he is a graduate in mechanical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra.

Michael Clark, as per the Company’s announcement in November last year, will take on the role of chief operating officer of Hero MotoCorp w.e.f January 2021, will also head HR, and will report directly to Pawan Munjal, chairman of Hero group. Clarke was the former MD of London-based MJC Global Solutions.
