At GSK Consumer Healthcare, Ralhan was country HR head.

Sudeep Ralhan has joined Walmart Labs as senior director-human resources. He will be responsible for delivering the overall HR strategy, compensation and talent initiatives.

He has moved from GSK Consumer Healthcare, where he was country HR head. Ralhan, an alumnus of IMT Ghaziabad, has spent more than five years at GSK.

In his career spanning 17 years, he has worked across the IT, BPO & FMCG industries, enabling business performance through design and deployment of talent strategy, acquisition, management and development practices. Having worked across geographies and functions, Ralhan is passionate about partnering with business leaders, developing people and working in positive, high-energy environments.

He has been associated with Accenture for close to 10 years, and with Polaris for two years.

“Ralhan will be a catalyst for change as we continue to execute our talent initiatives”, said Hari Vasudev, Vice President – Technology, Walmart Labs India as stated in a release.

Ralhan, who has now shifted base from Gurgaon to Bengaluru, says, “As home to 1400+ associates, the team in India is involved in cutting-edge solutions in collaboration with teams in the US and other markets. I consider it a great privilege to join Walmart Labs and to play a part in shaping the future of a business, which is transforming the shopping experience of millions of people across the globe.”

Walmart Labs, formerly Kosmix, follows a startup kind of work culture. It has small enterprising teams of highly-talented engineers working in a flat hierarchy. These multiple small teams function autonomously setting their own agenda, almost like independent mini startups within the Company. These teams also define their own roadmaps, infrastructure and design, typically attacking big data problems, with a specific focus on mining insights that could help change Walmart’s bottom-line business.
