I consider it a great privilege to join Walmart Labs and to play a part in shaping the future of a business, which is transforming the shopping experience of millions of people across the globe.”
Walmart Labs, formerly Kosmix, follows a startup kind of work culture. It has small enterprising teams of highly-talented engineers working in a flat hierarchy. These multiple small teams function autonomously setting their own agenda, almost like independent mini startups within the Company. These teams also define their own roadmaps, infrastructure and design, typically attacking big data problems, with a specific focus on mining insights that could help change Walmart’s bottom-line business.
