Xavier School of Human Resource Management (XAHR), Xavier University, Bhubaneswar recently concluded its placement programme, ‘Xuberance 2019’. The programme saw all the 123 participating students from the 2017-19 batch being offered jobs.
Sixty-seven companies from different industries made offers, of which the highest pay package of Rs 27.5 lakh per annum was offered by DE Shaw. Nineteen students received pre-placement offers (PPO/PPIs). Most of the offers were made by the manufacturing industry, followed by IT, consulting, BFSI, and FMCG.
A 30per cent increase in the highest salary offered was witnessed as compared to the previous year. The average salary offered was Rs 12.75 lakhs per annum, while last year it was only Rs 11.88 lakhs per annum. The median salary figure this year was Rs 12.20 lakhs per annum, and the average salary for the top 50 students was Rs 15.50 lakhs per year.
The participating companies included names such as IBM, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Titan, Bajaj Allianz, Cognizant Business Consulting, GAIL, Reliance, Godrej, Hero Motocorp, ICICI Bank, Capgemini, IBM, Vedanta, ITC Limited, Salesforce, TATA Advanced Systems, Zee Media, Philips Lighting, UltraTech Cement, Walmart, Apollo Munich, and Ambuja Cement, L&T, TATA Steel, Arcesium, HDFC Life, GMR Group, JK Organization, Murugappa Group, Future Generali Life Insurance, Manipal Education and Medical Group, Right Management, and many others.
Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB) also achieved 100% placement last month, for its MBA programme. The average salary there has gone up to Rs 14.31 lakh from last year’s Rs 12.91 lakh.
