Myntra is planning to hire more than 7,000 people for temporary roles in IT supply chain and warehouses, ahead of the festival season. Considering that the Indian fashion e-commerce company has absorbed most of the people it had taken on for temporary roles in June this year, many may find themselves being retained this time too.
This is probably the first time that the Company is hiring in such huge numbers to tackle the festival sale rush.
The e-commerce company has not only added about 500 brands this year, but is working with about 10,000 artisans across India, for ‘Taavi’, its multicultural lifestyle label. This is a huge support for the artisans who are struggling amidst the pandemic. Needless to say, these artisans will be more than busy during the festival season and sale period. The Company has tied up with about 6,000 kirana stores to ensure last-mile delivery, providing employment to many in the remote corners of the country. They are known as Myntra Extended Network for Service Augmentation (MENSA) partners. With a team of 18,000 such partners, 70 per cent of Myntra’s deliveries will be handled by them during the week-long sale from October 16 to 22.
In preparation for the festival sale, Myntra has also strengthened its customer contact centre by taking on 1,000 people. The Company has provided an allowance of Rs 20,000 to each of its remote-working employees to set up a comfortable home office to ensure smooth service during the sale.
