If the campus recruitment at the JSS Science and Technology University (JSSSTU) is anything to go by, there seem to be ample opportunity for freshers out there. More than 600 students received offer letters with the average package reaching Rs 10.5 lakh per annum.
The placement drive witnessed participation from 150 companies.
Most of the eligible students received offer letters, indicating that the pandemic has not really affected recruitments. While the average package was Rs 8 lakh per annum last year, it has gone up to Rs 10.5 lakh per annum this year. More than 19 students managed to bag a salary package of Rs 27 lakh per annum. The polymer science branch of the Institute witnessed 100 per cent placement.
Meanwhile, Chandigarh University reported a successful placement drive with over 5,000 students receiving job offers. Over 500 multinational companies held virtual campus placement drives for the students of engineering, MBA, hotel management, pharmacy, biotechnology, architecture and other programmes. Compared to last year, girl students accounted for over 38 per cent of the offers. The placement process for the 2021 batch began in July 2020, and by October 2020, more than 150 companies had already completed their recruitment processes and made over 1000 job offers.
At IIM Udaipur, there has been 100 per cent placement for the one-year MBA in global supply chain management batch of 2020-21. The average CTC offered was Rs 19.27 lakh per annum, with the highest package touching Rs 34.98 lakhs per annum.
