Disney pushes down Apple, which was at the No. 1 spot for two consecutive years, and also Netflix to the third position, as the most admired HR in the report for corporate reputations.
As the entertainment giant soars to number one, Best Buy jumps 256 spots to land at no. 10. Disney’s reputation in the four categories — management quality, people management, product/service quality and innovation, soared. Its greatest gains were in the first two categories, with significant improvement in the latter two as well.
Korn Ferry and Fortune team up annually, to determine the World’s Most Admired Companies. The credit for Disney’s ranking goes to its stable growth. Similar growth was shown by Disney in 2019 as it consistently worked to build its reputation.
Disney’s HR team has supported the workforce in its journey towards this exponential growth. The “compassion and creativity” exhibited by the HR team clearly helped the employees handle these difficult times and cope better with the changed work situation, caused by the pandemic. The team focussed on the employees and ways to address their needs using tools that enable them to work smoothly.
Best Buy, which took a giant leap to occupy the tenth position, made noticeable improvements in all four attributes, just like Disney, mostly through people management and management quality.
Data was collected in late 2019 by Fortune and recalibrated for Human Resource Executive’s yearly Most Admired list, all based on the four HR attributes that measure HR quality.
