Infosys is all set to hire more in the US and Europe. In the last one year, it has already taken on about 2,000 graduates outside India and it expects to continue this trend in 2021.

With an intention to follow the localisation model, the Company wants to develop more resilience for various scenarios in the future.

Although maximum hiring happens from within India, Infosys is going to focus on local hiring abroad. It has already set up six research centres across the US, including Indiana and Rhode Island, with the objective of drawing local talent.

Two weeks ago, the Company had announced its plan to hire 24,000 people from the campuses in 2021-22. The IT services provider actually increased its campus hiring target from the earlier 15,000 to 24,000, and also expects to experience double-digit growth due to the large deals it has bagged. It posted net profit growth of 16.6 per cent year-on-year to Rs 5,197 crore in the third quarter of FY21, compared to Rs 4,845 crore during the same period in the last financial year.

With a rebound in the GDP anticipated in FY 22, it was reported last week that India’s top-four IT companies, Wipro, TCS, Infosys and HCL are working on a robust hiring plan. The four Indian multinationals together expect to hire a minimum of 91,000 freshers from campuses.
