Intel Corporation has announced the appointment of Christy Pambianchi as executive vice president & chief people officer. She will take charge from September 7 and will directly report to Pat Gelsinger, CEO, Intel Corporation. Pambianchi will be mandated to attract and retain the best talent as the Company wishes to strengthen its execution and innovation to accelerate its transformation.

Pambianchi carries a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labour Relations and serves as a board member in various organisations and institutes, such as the HR Policy Association, Health Transformation Alliance, National Academy of Human Resources Foundation and Center for Executive Succession at the University of South Carolina, Darla School of Management.

Before joining Intel, Pambianchi was leading the HR function at Verizon, where she played a key role in building the Company’s HR practices to stay at the forefront of digital transformation, optimised talent programmes, built dynamic leadership capability, and supported a culture of continuous development and learning.

Pambianchi was leading the people function at Corning Incorporated as the EVP – people and digital, before moving to Verizon. Corning is an American multinational that specialises in specialty glass, ceramics and related materials and technologies, including advanced optics. It is known for its product, the Corning Gorilla Glass. Having joined Corning in 2000, she spent almost 20 years there in various senior leadership roles. Before that she also spent 10 years at PepsiCo where her last-held position was that of director – HR.

Gelsinger is confident that Pambianchi is the perfect fit for Intel considering that she is a “proven and dynamic HR leader with deep experience in global manufacturing and technology companies.”, He admits that “Intel’s people are our most important asset in building our future. Christy’s unique perspective and expertise will help us foster our vibrant culture and live out our purpose of creating technology that improves the lives of every person on the planet.”

“We are at a vital inflection point both for Intel and the semiconductor industry overall. Now, more than ever, it’s critical that the world has a secure, resilient supply chain, and Intel has a foundational role in making that a reality,” says Pambianchi. She adds, “I am thrilled to join the Intel team at this important time and to ensure that this iconic company continues to be home to the best and brightest talent in the industry.”
