Shobana Kailash has joined RateGain as chief human resources officer, bringing more than two decades of experience in HR leadership, organisational transformation and building high-performing teams across global markets. In her new role, Kailash will work closely with RateGain’s leadership as the company continues to scale its AI-led strategy, strengthen its presence across North America and Europe, and integrate Sojern.
A key part of her mandate will be to shape a workforce that sees AI not simply as a technology intervention, but as an integral part of how work gets done and how employees evolve with the business.
Kailash brings experience spanning more than 30 countries and has held senior HR and talent leadership positions across technology, healthcare, financial services and global organisations.
Before joining RateGain, she served as group CHRO at Hubilo from March 2022 to January 2024, where she focused on collaborative leadership and business transformation. Prior to Hubilo, she was global talent leader – product, design and engineering at Freshworks, managing talent acquisition, HR business partnership and workplace experience for its global product development organisation.
She has also held HR leadership roles at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where she was HR leader for JAPAC, ANZ and MENA, and at Fidelity Investments, where she served as senior director – human resources, Bengaluru, overseeing employee experience, benefits and wellness, HR PMO and HR for HR.
Her earlier career includes nearly six years with Quintiles Transnational in the US, where she worked in corporate HR and compensation and benefits. She also served as global CHRO in an advisory-to-the-board role at the International Water Management Institute in Sri Lanka, supporting a diverse workforce spread across 10 offices in Asia and Africa.
Since April 2024, Kailash has worked as an independent HR adviser to companies and startups, bringing an advisory lens to organisational growth and transformation.
Kailash describes herself as a global HR leader who works at the intersection of strategy, execution and organisational design, partnering with boards, CEOs and leadership teams through periods of growth, transformation and change.
Kailash is an alumna of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and holds a bachelor’s degree in Food Technology from Avinashilingam University.
