TechMahindra is set to hire 3,000 professionals as it prepares to establish a Global Capability Centre (GCC)  in Hyderabad. The hiring push aligns with the company’s expansion strategy and commitment to scaling its workforce for specialised projects.

This initiative is part of Tech Mahindra’s broader transformation. The company’s three-year performance improvement strategy, Project Fortius, aims to enhance operating margins, accelerate profit growth, and streamline client portfolios by cutting accounts that are not making profits.

Tech Mahindra, which recorded $6.3 billion in revenue for FY24, plans to allocate approximately two per cent of its 1,50,488-strong workforce to operate Goodyear’s GCC. The company reported a remarkable 92.6 per cent year-on-year increase in net profit for Q3 FY24. Meanwhile, Goodyear closed 2023 with $20 billion in revenue, further expanding its global presence.

Recently, the company announced that it will train about 8,000 of its employees in technologies such as cybersecurity, quantum computing and artificial intelligence (AI). Foreseeing the demand for and the need to embrace and take advantage of generative AI and quantum computing solutions, the firm has decided to invest in the learning and development of its employees, so that they are upskilled and reskilled.

Tech Mahindra is looking at focusing on sectors such as healthcare, manufacturing, retail and banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), especially in the US.
