The first batch of rural students that has passed out of the Amara Raja Skill Development Centre (ARSDC) in Mahbubnagar, Telangana, has met with 98.85 per cent placement success. Yes, since the Centre was inaugurated in August of 2025, the first batch of 98 students from the nearby villages were screened, onboarded and trained in partnership with Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI).
They were imparted vocational training in specialised courses such as heating, ventilation & air conditioning (HVAC), electrical (domestic and industrial), electric vehicle service and repair (EVSR), and EV battery pack assembly process. The curriculum was a mix of classroom teaching, laboratory practicals and on-the-job training.
This first batch comprised local youth from financially weak families who have completed class 10 or 12. They were selected post a rigorous screening process and then given free training. Their food and transportation were also taken care of by ARSDC. These students now possess NCVET-approved certifications through ESSCI, opening doors to career growth and entrepreneurship.
This training initiative not only helps rural youth land formal jobs and means of livelihood but also brings down the pressure of migration and ensures socio-economic progress for the local communities.
The Amara Raja Skill Development Centre was established by Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies with the support of the Rajanna Foundation, the CSR arm of the Amara Raja Group.
The Valedictory Programme of the Centre was Madhusudan Reddy, MLA, Devarakadra, Viziendira Boyi, district collector of Mahbubnangar, K Shashanka, VC & MD of TGIIC, and the senior management of the Amara Raja Group.
The next batch starts on 15 December and with the Giga Corridor coming up, the Centre will continue transform the lives of rural youth by making them employable and industry ready.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Amara Raja Giga Corridor is a large-scale project in Telangana, India, by the Amara Raja Group to manufacture advanced battery cells and packs.
