The Ministry of Labour & Employment has signed agreements with Porter and Gigin Technologies to strengthen job creation and digital recruitment through the National Career Service (NCS) portal. The move is aimed at expanding employment opportunities, improving job matching, and supporting youth with skill-aligned roles across industries.
The NCS portal already hosts over 7 lakh active vacancies and has registered nearly 6 crore jobseekers and 59 lakh establishments since its launch. With these new partnerships, the platform is expected to grow further as a central hub for employment and career development.
Porter, a logistics and transport services company, will use the NCS portal to generate large-scale driving and logistics jobs. It plans to create about 6 lakh opportunities annually and nearly 30 lakh by 2030, offering structured pathways for workers in the logistics sector.
Gigin Technologies, a digital recruitment platform, will contribute by creating 2–3 lakh verified job opportunities each year. It will also facilitate over 1.5 lakh employer engagements annually, ensuring that jobseekers have access to authentic listings and transparent hiring processes.
The Ministry highlighted that these collaborations are not just about job listings but also about bridging skill gaps. Short training courses in soft skills and industry-specific needs are expected to be introduced, improving employability and preparing workers for future-ready roles.
By linking technology-driven platforms with the Indian government’s employment ecosystem, the initiative aims to provide dignified, secure, and inclusive livelihoods. It reflects a broader vision of building a responsive labour market that connects millions of jobseekers with verified employers, while supporting India’s workforce in adapting to changing industry demands.
The event was attended by Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, along with Vandana Gurnani, Secretary of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, along with representatives from Porter (SmartShift Logistics Solutions), and Gigin Technologies.
