Telangana is setting up dedicated ‘Employee Mitra’ helpdesks at 17 super-speciality hospitals across Hyderabad to help government employees, pensioners and their dependants access healthcare services under the New Employee Health Scheme (NEHS).

The helpdesks are designed to provide beneficiaries with information about medical treatments and services available under the scheme at participating hospitals. They will also assist employees and pensioners with details about eligible procedures and the healthcare facilities covered under NEHS.

The initiative was announced during the launch of an Employee Mitra helpdesk at Continental Hospitals on August 25.

The new support mechanism is intended to make it easier for beneficiaries to understand and access services under the State government’s employee health scheme without having to navigate the process on their own.

Continental Hospitals has recently been added to the NEHS network. Its inclusion allows eligible Telangana government employees, pensioners and their dependants to access cashless medical and surgical treatment at the hospital under the scheme.

Through the helpdesks, beneficiaries will be able to seek information about the treatments covered and understand the services available at individual participating hospitals.

The State already provides additional assistance through the dedicated 104 helpline. Employees, pensioners and their dependants can use the helpline to obtain information and support related to the health scheme.

The expansion of Employee Mitra helpdesks comes as Telangana seeks to make healthcare access more convenient for its government workforce and retired employees. By placing dedicated assistance points within hospitals, the initiative is expected to provide beneficiaries with a direct channel for information on treatment eligibility and services available under NEHS.
