‘upGrad for Business’ to upskill 1 lakh women in data & tech

upGrad for Business, the B2B arm of the South Asian higher edtech company, upGrad, will soon collaborate with corporates to train more than one lakh women in data science, technology and management roles as part of its WISDOM initiative.

Short for Women in Science, Data, Organisational behaviour & Management, WISDOM is an initiative that will allow organisations to enhance gender diversity in these fields which are considered to be dominated by men.

The objective is to not just empower women to thrive, but also drive their organisation’s success. “We have 23.3% women in the workplace today as compared to 42.7% two decades ago. This is alarming in the context of the Indian corporate ecosystem. As part of our ‘WISDOM’ initiative, we aim to bring holistic learning for our women colleagues, by melding our data and soft skills expertise,” says Minaxi Indra, president, upGrad for Business.

The women-centric programme is are aimed at three categories —Young Professionals, Middle Management and Business Heads. These are a valuable addition to the popular data, tech, management and behavioural programmes.
