TVS ILP wants to move employee wellbeing beyond occasional interventions

Its new People Happiness Programme brings physical, psychological, social and financial wellbeing under a year-round framework, with employee feedback built into the model

Employee wellbeing programmes often arrive as a collection of interventions: a health camp here, a counselling helpline there, perhaps a financial-wellness session or an employee offsite. TVS Industrial & Logistics Parks (TVS ILP) is attempting to bring these activities under one continuous framework.

The company has launched a People Happiness Programme (PHP), covering four areas of employee wellbeing: physical, psychological, social and financial. The more significant part of the programme, however, is its attempt to make these interventions year-round rather than episodic.

Employees will have access to health check-ups, wellness programmes and yoga sessions under the physical-health component. Psychological support includes wellness webinars and 24×7 professional counselling, available in multiple languages.

The social component covers cultural celebrations, offsites and CSR activities, while financial wellbeing includes sessions on money management and planning as well as support during unforeseen financial emergencies.

TVS ILP plans to use regular pulse checks and employee feedback to assess changing needs and modify its interventions. That feedback loop could determine whether PHP develops into an employee-wellbeing system rather than remaining a calendar of activities.

The company has also identified communication, clarity, consistency and care as principles governing the programme. In practice, these are intended to improve communication with employees, make policies and available support clearer, ensure initiatives continue throughout the year and allow the company to respond to changing employee needs.

“Culture is not built through policies alone, it is shaped by the everyday experiences of our people,” said Aditi Kumar, joint managing director, TVS ILP.

She said the programme was intended to ensure employees felt “valued, heard and supported”, particularly as the company expands across India. “This programme is not a one-time initiative but an ongoing commitment to listening, learning and building a workplace that puts people first,” she added.

TVS ILP has been recognised as a Great Place To Work for four consecutive years. In its 2026 Trust Index Survey, the company recorded an overall positive response of 83 per cent, while 87 per cent of employees said TVS ILP was a great place to work.
