Havells India, Cognizant Technology Solutions and Mobile Premier League (MPL) have joined the list of corporates offering to cover the vaccination cost for their employees across India.

Havells India, the fast-moving electrical goods (FMEG) company has also announced that it will reimburse the vaccination cost — for both the doses — for not only its direct staff but also those indirectly employed with it.

V Krishnan, CHRO Havells, reiterated that people are at the core of Havell’s philosophy and assured that the Company “will contribute to our nation’s collective initiative to end the pandemic. We intend to continue our focus towards ensuring our workforce is safe, healthy and secure, so that we are always ready to meet the needs of our customers’

Havells has taken various initiatives during the pandemic and lockdown to ensure mental and physical well-being of its employees. To further prevent the spread of Covid-19 it has introduced and followed clear WFH guidelines, has staggered return to workplace through a roaster system, and also ensured technology enablement for all employees for seamless WFH working. To ensure ongoing holistic development, it has invested almost 10,000-man hours of training for employees to upskill them and enhance their soft skills, health and wellbeing.

Mobile Premier League (MPL) has also announced an end-to-end vaccination drive plan for all its employees. The drive will cover all MPL employees as well as up to three dependents across India. The e-sports and mobile gaming platform has tied up with a healthcare service provider and will commence the drive soon.

The planned vaccination drive will not be limited to just covering the cost, but will also take care of the entire process, including pre-vaccination medical opinion, inoculation as per the protocols, as well as post-vaccination observation of the employees by doctors.

Sai Srinivas, co-founder and CEO of Mobile Premier League, shares that the Company has always “prioritised employee welfare and wellness.” By vaccinating the employees and their immediate family members, “we aim to strengthen our commitment to our employees and place a firm emphasis on their safety and security.”

The vaccination drive will be voluntary for employees and their immediate families, who can avail of it in Kolkata, Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and other major cities. The drive will cover over 2000 people.

Cognizant will be extending this benefit to not just the employees on its rolls, but also to the contract and support staff as well as security personnel. That means, it will cover over six lakh people in the country, including two lakh full-time employees and their immediate families in addition to five lakh support staff and their dependents.

For almost a year now, Cognizant has been lending valuable advice and support to its workforce through the 24×7 employee assistance programme.
