DP World, a global supply chain solutions company, has launched its latest innovation centre in Gurugram. The Centre will have at least 240 employees working on critical solutions for global supply chains.

Having begun with just 50 employees, the tech solutions company now has over 450 employees, and is still growing. It hopes to have a headcount of at least 700 by the middle of next year.

The development teams at the Gurugram centre, will work on DP World’s latest cutting-edge trade and logistics solutions to revolutionise the manner in which trade flows through every link of the global supply chain, creating stability, security and profitability for cargo owners.

Pradeep Desai, CTO, DP World, revealed that the Company is “ investing heavily in end-to-end logistics, trade finance, e-commerce and market access, all for benefitting cargo owners. In addition, efficiencies can be achieved in supply chains by using IoT to run operations, digital twins to monitor activities and movement of cargo via alternate modes of transport using optimization techniques”.

DP World’s global logistics solutions are opening up markets to traders, while financial solutions such as Trade Finance by DP World — an online platform — connects lenders with borrowers around the world who fund their trade projects.

India’s digital economy is expected to reach $1 trillion by 2025, and its talent pool of techies is growing at a fast pace. The hired tech professionals and engineers will get to work on various technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate trade flows.
