Harish Bharti is now chief technology officer (CTO), Asia Pacific, for IBM Consulting. He was earlier IBM distinguished engineer and master inventor, while also shouldering the responsibilities of CTO for core systems modernisation.
Bharti’s association with IBM began in June of 2002 when he joined as an IBM certified senior IT architect. For over 12 years he was industry lead architect for consumer goods.
He became distinguished engineer & master inventor IBM Consulting in March of 2013.
July of 2015 saw him being elevated to chief architect, global solutioning centre of excellence. He was based out of Pune for over five years, creating complex solutions addressing client business requirements with reasoned application of information technology.
Since April of 2021, he has also been serving as CTO for core systems modernisation, as a distinguished engineer and master inventor.
Harish Bharti sees the latest elevation as “a real privilege” which he doesn’t take lightly. Bharti is looking forward to the additional responsibilities as “APAC is a genuinely exciting place to be doing this work. The banks and enterprises here aren’t just adopting AI, they’re rethinking how they run on it, and at real scale”.
He will continue to take on “hard technology problems and turn them into results clients can actually rely on”. He is eager to help “our teams build agentic AI that holds up in production, not just in a demo”.
After completing a BE in Computer Science in 1998, Bharti went on to obtain an MBA in Operations from ICFAI, in 2009.
The initial two years of his career were spent at L&T Infotech as a software engineer, before he joined Walmart as SOA architect in 2010.
Known to be a natural leader with mentoring capabilities, Harish Bharti will continue to be an asset to IBM.
