Firstsource Solutions, a global company that provides specialist domain-led business process services (BPS), will be expanding its operations into Australia and New Zealand. With headquarters in Victoria, Melbourne, the RP-Sanjiv Goenka group firm will generate more than 400 local jobs by 2029.
That is not all; as part of its expansion plans, Firstsource intends to collaborate with education institutions in Victoria to establish an innovation lab focused on artificial intelligence (AI), engineering, robotics and digital experimentation. It is pertinent to mention here that Melbourne is amongst Australia’s leading tech city.
Sanjiv Goenka, chairman, RPSG Group and Firstsource, sees this expansion “as an important opportunity to leverage not just the immense opportunities the country presents, but also the outstanding support provided by the government in ease of doing business and building a stronger local economy.”
Goenka acknowledged “the support and partnership provided by the Victorian Government toward setting up our operations” and is looking forward to “contributing meaningfully to the growth and success of both our business and the local economy.”
Along with Sohit Brahmawar, COO and Gagan Vohra, ANZ countryhead, Firstsource, Goenka also met Jacinta Allan, premier of Victoria, to discuss the mutual support for establishing Firstsource Solutions’ headquarters in Melbourne and helping grow the state’s digital capabilities, bringing new proprietary technology and driving more research, innovation and growth in the state’s digital ecosystem.
Tim Pallas, Victorian Minister for Economic Growth, highlighted how investors are drawn towards Victoria’s “world-leading education institutions, tech talent pool and innovation ecosystem”.
