Randstad India, the HR services firm, which is expanding rapidly in Andhra Pradesh, has launched a new centre in Visakhapatnam (Vizag).
Not only is the Bangalore-based company investing Rs 50 crore over the next couple of years in Vizag (Visakhapatnam), but is eager to create jobs for the local youth. Through this new centre, it hopes to provide employment to about 3,000 people across the country over the next year, and about 6,000 in the next two years.
This is part of Randstad’s endeavour to expand its presence across smaller cities cities and “mini-metros” to narrow the gap between employers and talent.
Given the fact that Vizag has a rich pool of talent skilled in business intelligence, machine learning (ML), full-stack development, Python, animation, graphics and so on, the Company hopes to use the new centre to tap talent from the tier 2 and 3 cities across the country.
The Vizag sourcing centre will have at least 100 new employees who will handle domestic hiring for big information technology (IT) companies in India.
The Company will also provide skilling and training programmes to candidates via its Randstad Skilling Academy, which will make the local youth more employable.
Presently, Randstad India has a workforce comprising about 1,500 non-IT employees located in Andhra Pradesh itself.
The launching of the Vizag centre is integral to Randstad’s expansion plans and business-growth strategy.
Viswanath PS is the MD and CEO of Randstad India.
