Maternity leave, paternity leave, care-giving leave, abortion leave, pet leave—yes, employers today are going out of the way to ensure the well-being of their employees. However, Whiteline Group has gone a step further to ensure that its employees do not miss out on romance in their lives. The Thai company has offered its employees a ‘Tinder Leave’ so that they can go out on dates.
The company is offering six months (August to December 2024) of Tinder Platinum and Tinder Gold.
That means, the members of its 200-strong workforce have six months to pursue romance and go on dates.
How did the company come up with this idea? Well, the management heard an employee complaining that she was so busy that there was no time to go on dates. It is the Group’s belief that this Tinder Leave will help increase productivity, because happy employees are more productive.
The employees can now take time off to be with their dates. All they need to do is give a week’s notice.
The firm is also offering six months of high-tier subscriptions that come with enhanced features. For instance, they can see who has liked their profile, or match with people globally, or even send notes. The offer can be availed only by employees who have completed their probationary period (between 9 July and 31 December).
With instances of loneliness messing with people’s minds increasing worldwide, this Tinder Leave sounds like a great step. Will other employers be inspired?
