    Is Netflix offering Rs 7.4 cr. to AI product manager?

    How much can a product manager entrusted with the responsibility of improving the use of artificial intelligence (AI) within a company expect to earn? Well, at Netflix, the person essaying this role can earn up to Rs 7.4 crore per year!

    Those who have worked on centralised machine-learning platforms, are capable of collaborating with the in-house engineers, possess good communication skills and can think strategically may apply.

    Other than increasing usage of AI and leveraging the machine learning programme (ML), the AI product manager will be required to look into employment of AI in acquisition of content and also customisation of user recommendations. The formal title the suitable candidate will be given is that of product manager – machine learning platform. He or she will have to focus on making maximum use of AI across all divisions of Netflix.

    The role is based out of the California headquarters of Netflix.

    Netflix has been increasingly turning to machine learning and artificial intelligence to power innovation across its businesses. It is not only using AI and ML to purchase and create content, but also enhance its payment processing system and help members select the right titles for them via personalisation.

    In January 2023, Netflix had grabbed headlines when it had advertised for a person trained in cabin and passenger safety and capable of handling aircraft emergency evacuation.

    The flight attendant role was based out of San Jose, California and entailed on-ground duty along with travel within and outside the US. The selected candidate was offered up to Rs 3 crore a year as salary! The final remuneration it was said would be determined basis the skills and experience level of the candidate.
