Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) does it again, for the eight successive year. It is a Top Employer in the UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and South Africa for the year 2023, in addition to being Global Top Employer for 2023, as declared by the Top Employers Institute.
Thanks to its ability to provide career opportunities to its employees, the Indian software multinational has been recognised for its ongoing investments in establishing a diverse workforce and developing the next generation of tech talent in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
With a 9,000-strong global workforce, TCS has employees from 35 nationalities that support over 150 companies across the Middle East and Africa region. About 42 per cent of its workforce comprises women hired locally from their respective regions of operation.
In Saudi Arabia, TCS has been successfully empowering women through the All Women Digital Services Centre based in Riyadh. Through this initiative, it has offered jobs to close to 1,000 skilled women in the country. Having invested in organic talent development, TCS has also helped create a cadre of successful women professionals equipped with new-age skills for fulfilling careers.
The TCS Innovation Lab in Riyadh, established in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, collaborates with universities and startups to provide a platform for students to explore and create innovative solutions to address pressing industry needs.
The tech major has also introduced many programmes to promote STEM education in Saudi Arabia and South Africa through volunteering programmes. In 2022, its flagship STEM education programme, TCS goIT Saudi Arabia reached 900 school students, of which girls accounted for 60 per cent.
The TCS Sustainathon launched in South Africa, provided an opportunity for the youth to find creative solutions to real-world challenges. The programme invited school students to come up with innovative solutions to address issues such as food security and malnutrition.
