Samsung announces plan to hire 1000 engineers across India

These engineers will be hired for the Company’s R&D centres

With an aim to strengthen its focus on innovation and new-age technology, Samsung is planning to hire 1000+ engineers for its research and development (R&D) institutes across India.

The new recruits will be joining the Korean tech brand’s R&D institutes in Bangalore, Delhi and Noida, as well as the Samsung Semiconductor India Research in Bengaluru in 2023. The engineers will be hired from multiple streams such as computer science and allied branches (AI/ML/computer vision/VLSI, and so on), information technology, electronics, instrumentation, embedded systems and communication networks. Engineers will also be selected from streams such as mathematics, computing and software engineering.

All the fresh hires will be working on new and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, image processing, IoT, connectivity, cloud, Big Data, business intelligence, and more.

Sameer Wadhawan, head, human resources, Samsung India said, “Strengthening their focus on innovation and cutting-edge technology, Samsung’s R&D centres aim to hire new talent from India’s top engineering institutes who will work on breakthrough innovations, technologies, products and designs, including India-centric innovations, that enrich people’s lives. This will further our vision of Powering Digital India.”

For the current season, Samsung is looking to hire around 200 engineers from the top Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) at Madras, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bombay, Roorkee, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Guwahati and Varanasi (BHU) among others. Over 400 pre-placement offers (PPOs) have already been made to students at the IITs and other top institutions.
