Sujan Sinha has joined Praxis Global Alliance, the global management consulting and advisory firm as a Practice Leader in the Financial Services Practice.
An accomplished financial service professional, Sinha has over three and half decades of experience in retail lending, retail liabilities, treasury, and international banking.
He started his professional journey as a probationary officer at SBI where he spent 14 years across branch banking, forex exchange, and international banking. Sinha was part of the founding team of Shriram Housing Finance and led it as MD & CEO for eight years. He then had a 12-year stint at Axis Bank (formerly UTI Bank) where he was pivotal in setting up the retail lending business, before assuming charge as MD & CEO of Shriram Housing Finance Limited (SHFL). At SHFL, he led the founding team which set up the mortgage lending business with a clear focus on affordable housing – extending homeownership finance to the underserved segment of the population in Tier II & III centres of India.
He was recognised as the Best CEO by the National Award of Excellence in BFSI in 2016; in 2018, the World BFSI Congress ranked him amongst the 100 most influential BFSI leaders. Sinha is currently an advisory board member of VANS Advisory and TKWs Institute of Banking & Finance.
On his appointement, Sinha admitted to feeling excited and looking forward “to provide holistic, cutting edge strategies and solutions to both new start-ups as well as the pandemic-impacted NBFCs.”
Sinha has extensive experience across all aspects of consumer lending, from product development, sales model design, and scale-up, risk management, and operations. He will be working closely with the Praxis network to help deliver practical and scalable solutions to clients as they rebuild their business.
According to Shishir Mankad, head, financial services practice, Praxis Global Alliance, Sinhas’ “track record of incubating and building large franchises within large and successful financial institutions is uniquely relevant in today’s context. COVID has forced all businesses to go back to the drawing board and reset the business model, while ensuring continuity with the organisational context and fabric.”
Madhur Singhal, managing director, Praxis Global Alliance, commented, “Financial Services is a strategic area of focus for us, and we are excited to have Sujan become part of the Praxis network, we look forward to taking his expertise and experience to our clients as we engage with them on key strategic issues.”
