NetApp, the intelligence data-infrastructure company, has roped in Alessandra Ginante Yockelson for the role of chief human resources officer (CHRO).

Yockelson, who holds a PhD in business administration and management, has completed a programme in human capital and HR management, and personnel administration from Cornell University.

Her association with HR began in 1992, when she joined Banco de Credito Nacional (BCN) as supervisor of employee benefits, based out of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Six years later, she moved to Volkswagen South America as a senior analyst -human resources. Two years into this role, she moved again to join Philips Latin America. She started off as HR learning and development manager for three years and was then elevated to regional business improvement senior manager. By the time she moved on from Philips over 12 years later, she had reached the position of vice president, human resources.

Her next stop was Avon, in 2013. As vice-president of human resources South America and president of Avon Foundation, Brazil, for the next three years and eight months, she spearheaded business excellence to increase innovation, effectiveness and efficiency via design thinking, agile and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

In 2016, she moved to Norwalk, Connecticut, to join Diageo, as executive VP-HR. During her two-year tenure there, she introduced scorecards on operational HR metrics, assessed and improved HR practices against industry maturity models, overcame labour-relations issues, replaced legacy HR technology and focused on early career development.

From 2018 to 2021, she was with Hewlett Packard Enterprise, as chief talent officer for little less than two years, and then as chief talent officer and global HR executive, business units, technology and PointNext Services. This assignment saw her based out of San Jose, California, in the US.

Her tenure at HPE lasted almost three years, as by 2021, she had moved to Pure Storage as CHRO.

Since 2021, she has also been serving as board director, iCIMS.

She joins NetApp, which is known for its “high-performing, inclusive and collaborative culture”, which Yockelson admits are areas she is passionate about. Her LinkedIn post says she is looking forward to joining the company “at a moment of accelerated innovation and growth”. She hopes to uphold the company’s “commitment to attracting and retaining top talent and fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, excellence and results.”
